Owners
Greg Klein
Greg and his wife Joan opened the store in January of 1998 after seeing the need for a specialty running store in the community. His caring, professional approach towards finding you the ideal shoe sets the standard for all South Sound Running employees. His commitment to educating the consumer about their athletic footwear combined with his support of running and walking events in the South Sound, has filled a void the community was lacking. Greg has been able to combine his many years of experience in the sporting goods industry with his athletic background. In addition to running. Greg has participated in numerous local road races with a 5k best of 15:18 and a 2:37 Marathon. Greg is an avid cyclist enjoys fast packing and mountaineering with six ascents of Mt. Rainier to his credit.
Joan Marchioro
Joan works behind the scenes with her accounting skills and keeps the store running smoothly with her business skills. As well as working part-time for the store Joan is an Assistant Attorney General for the state of Washington. Joan is also and avid runner, hiker and mountaineer. She was the 1992 Capitol City Marathon Women's Runner-up. Along with her husband Greg, she has climbed numerous peaks in the Northwest including Mt. Baker, Mt Adams and Mt. Rainier.
